Hi, my name is James and I am a Guitar and Bass teacher from Minnesota. I have been a formal student of music for three years. My musical influences include Blues, Rock, Metal and I also enjoy Jazz. My teaching style can best be described as fun and intuitive. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I want to teach musicians things that I wish I knew when I was trying to learn certain techniques. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to love your instrument. I like to tell my students you only think you can't but you can if you work at it. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students progress. My favorite performance was playing a worship set at the Grove in Anaheim for 3000 people. I primarily teach guitar and bass.

Get ready to get groovy! I've been playing bass for years and have been in love with it from the first pluck. As Victor Wooten would phrase it "bass is the bridge between rhythm and melody." I love to teach music theory as well as many different bass techniques. I I like to create a fun and light atmosphere in my lessons. Who wants to learn and be talked down to?
