Dear Parents, Musical Enthusiasts and Prospective Students, I'm in the process of completing my Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance with a cognate in Pedagogy. I began my studies with Mrs. Elizabeth Fullington when I was six and music has become my life ever since. It was under her guidance, along with Dr. Michael Rickman, Professor Faina Lushtak and Dr Steven Spooner, that I received full scholarships and have placed in several national and international competitions. My previous students at the University of Kansas and Tulane University are amongst the best and have been accepted in to University programs and have received scholarships. My goal is to not only gain the technique, stylistic understanding, and tools needed to perform on the piano at the highest level but to also develop a love of music. I've had many stellar students from Russia, Georgia, China, Japan, and The United States take lessons to earn degrees but also several who took lessons as a secondary instrument for the love of it. Many pursue other careers but still have the skills to accompany a choir for example, or learn piano in order to sing by developing their listening skills. I plan to also bring the tools needed to play piano which is so important for any child's education. It teaches responsibility, accountability, balance, and enhances spatial, auditory, visual, memory, and reading abilities. To play the piano is a balancing act that is healthy for the brain. I've taught Medical students, PhD Psychology majors, Business Majors, and of course Piano Majors and Minors. At any rate, I thank you for the support you have shown.
