Darrell began playing Percussion instruments at the age of 13. Over the years, he developed his skills further by joining his high school band and continuing throughout college. He gained performance experience in the melodic percussion area by playing at such venues as Benedict college, Georgia dome, MetLife stadium, and with acts such as The Benedict College Marchjng Band Of Distinction. Though Darrell can teach many genres of music, his musical personal favorites R&B and also classical which had great influence on his style of playing. Darrell loves music because "when it hits you feel no pain" music is our escape from this troubled world and loves teaching music because he didnt have great music teachers growing up as a child musician.
