About Me
My name is Patrick, I'm a Drummer, Songwriter, Recording Engineer and Producer. I've played the drums since I was 8, and through junior high and high school was not only in jazz band and concert band, but also in a few percussion groups and rock bands as well. In college I joined a touring metal band and wrote original music with them until we disbanded years later. That's when I went to the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences to formally learn sound recording and audio engineering. I was top of my class in software such as pro tools and logic, and continued writing original music. Now I have a home recording studio where I write and program digital music to perform live, and whenever I get the chance I'm behind a drum set. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to meeting you!

What to expect in my Drum Lessons

- Intermediate - Advanced

To gain knowledge of groove, tempo, and feel of variations when performing on the drum set. Traditional chops are great and needed for professionals, but when playing a real gig-a paradiddle flam won't save the show. Beyond that, I can show students how to read rhythms on sheet music, gain 4 limb coordination, and find their individual expression through fills and solo ethics. Expect to talk tips and tricks in different acoustic environments and best practices for making each performance count!

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

- - Advanced

I have been writing original music with bands since I was in high school. I've been the drummer and the front man before, so I can understand the insides of working out the drop ins and hooks. I've written hundreds of recorded songs for my own music projects and others, both of which continue to exceed today's musical standards. I learned without Music Theory in my pocket, I learned from the feel of what makes a song good, versus viral. While I choose to create music that satisfies my soul, I can help you achieve the success of your wildest songwriting dreams

What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce

-

There's so much to cover in this topic, from microphone selection, to proper signal flow, to hardware vs. software... It's anyone's game today, and thankfully the things that make a song great 5 years ago, and what is still working today. I primarily will teach in Logic Pro X everything from beat making, to mixing your or someone else's project, to learning basic mastering abilities. Troubleshooting is always discussed, as well as options for the everyday user. I really love when students can bring a song or album to me and open up a conversation about how it was put together, that ends with inspiration and a lot of focused passion!
