About Me

Hi, my name is Will and I am a father, singer, songwriter, producer, composer, keyboard and pianist, recording engineer and recording artist from Houston, TX by way of Queens, NY. I have been a student of music for over 20 years. My musical influences include Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, and I also enjoy Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, and John Legend. My teaching style can best be described as strategic, yet fun and loose. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I set out to encourage growth as a singer and a performer, prepared for real stages. In my lessons, you can expect to learn fundamentals of piano and voice, keyboard stylings, vocal strength and flexibility and vocal tonality. I like to tell my students that music is a muscle that has to be worked. My favorite thing about teaching is being apart of the development of someone's outstanding superhuman ability that is music. My favorite performance was doing a musical on the campuses of Sam Houston State Univ. and the University of Houston entitled Undergrad: the musical. A stage play that I co-wrote and produced while attending SHSU with some of my great friends. My students love that I am kind and honest, yet firm and knowledgable. I primarily teach voice and songwriting, but I can also teach piano and record engineering and production. Typically, an introduction to the fundamentals of voice after an evaluation of the student's level of competence. My lessons are more of an "on the job" training. Ear training, harmonies, tonality, vocal stylings and strength are my key focuses. I aim to provide fundamental knowledge of the instrument and then focus on how we apply it to our everyday playing. My goal is to prepare singers for the stage and for vocal recording. I've shared the stage with many celebrity singers and performed in front of tens of thousands of people over the last 5 years, traveled to over 30 cities and I perform in front of hundreds of people on most weekends throughout the year as a paid, traveling singer. I can provide real life application of what I teach in class.

Performing Experience:

I have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in gospel, such as Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Lowell Pye, Mary Mary, Travis Greene and more. I've performed on hundreds of stages all over the country over my 10+ year career in performing love music as a singer, recording artist and worship leader. I currently travel the country performing with a corporate party band named Big Bling and the Funk Machine. I also own my own band named Will and the W4VE in which I am the front man. I've sung in front of hundreds of thousands of people in my career in music.

Experience Teaching:

As a worship leader I coordinated and selected music for each service. I taught harmonies and stage presence for over 7 years. I am currently the vocal director for a traveling corporate party band.
