About Me

Hi, my name is Emily, and I love teaching violin! Here's a little bit about me so you can get to know me! I'm currently a Junior at Augustana College where I study Music Education. I play in the Augustana Symphony Orchestra and a quartet. I've played violin since 2008, and have picked up viola, cello, and piano since then. I've taught a number of private violin students, including beginners and more advanced players using Skype and lessons in-person. All of my students that participated in Solo and Ensemble have had a high score. I was a member of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra, the Batavia High School Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Chamber Orchestra. In addition to this, I was a member of a quartet through the Chamber Music Institute of Elgin. This upcoming Summer will be my 7th year of volunteering at Encore Summer Music Camp. I'm a member of the National Association for Music Education NAfME and the American String Teachers Association ASTA.-Just for fun: In my spare time, I create music theory videos to help people who struggle with the subject. I also like to paint and I run an Etsy Shop during the Holiday season.
