Hi, my name is Jonathan and I am a singer, musician and writer from Petersburg, VA. I have been a student of music for over 20 years. My musical influences include a wide verity of artist from Lala Hathaway, Tony Bennett, Earth Wind and Fire to people like Kirk Franklin, Karen Clark Sheard and Tye Tribbett. I also enjoy listening and teaching choir music. My teaching style can best be described as energetic, fun and serious at the same time. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I want to push you to do your best. In my lessons, you can expect to learn breathing techniques, the importance of diction and dynamics and to have confidence. I like to tell my students that they would be surprised what they can do if they do their best. My favorite thing about teaching is being able help people believe in themselves. My students love that I give my all in my sessions. I primarily teach vocals, but I can also teach drums. My approach as a teacher is to push people to exceed what they think they can do.
