Damianbegan taking piano lessons at age 3 at his own request after watching Victor Borge on TV. His passion for playing the piano came quickly and never left. Damian studied classical piano through high school, when he discovered jazz and studied under revered jazz composer and performer, Frank Cunimundo, at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. In 1988, His profound love for jazz and a suggestion from his highly respected high school band director, Dan Traugh, brought him to the University of North Texas Jazz Studies program in Denton, TX, which became his home and birthplace of his two incredibly awesome children, now grown. Over the years, he developed his skills further by touring coast-to-coast as a performer and recording with some of the industry's top talent, ranging from legendary Hall of Fame's Queen of Rockabilly, Ms. Wanda Jackson, to members of The Sammy Davis Orchestra. Damian teaches many genres, but his personal favorites are Blues, Funk, and Classic R&B, which greatly influence his style of playing. Damian loves music because it brings so much love and happiness to the world, and loves teaching music because to him, there is nothing more valuable than sharing the precious ability to express oneself and communicate in a language that reaches all of us.
