About Me
Ashley is a soprano and native of Houston, Texas. She holds degrees from the University of North Texas and McNeese State University. In 2012, Ashley made a significant debut with the Houston Grand Opera, giving the world the premiere of Jake Heggie’s Pieces of 9/11: Memories from Houston. Since then, she has performed roles such as Amor in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (UNT Opera), Pamina in Die Zauberflöte (LAHSOW), Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro (UNT Opera), Stella in Previn's A Streetcar named Desire (UNT Opera), La Fée in Massenet's Cendrillon (UNT Opera), and Despina in Così fan tutte (Opera Arlington). Ashley has been featured as the soloist for various reictals and concerts, appearing in works including Mozart’s Krönungsmesse (UNT Symphony Orchestra), Handel’s Messiah (Lake Charles Messiah Chorus), and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass (Louisiana Choral Foundation). Previously, Ashley joined early music ensemble, Fantasmi, on their Festival Baroko 2023 Czech Republic Tour and was later invited to perform a solo recital as a part of Lewisville Lake Symphony's International Chamber Recital series. This season, Ashley makes her company debut as an Outreach Artist with The Dallas Opera, taking on the role of Despina in their touring production of John Davies’ The Three Little Pigs. Concert engagements include performances with Orpheus Chamber Singers as well as a list of collaborative performances with The Dallas Opera.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

My studio is a friendly and fun experience for all ages. I teach a wide range of voice types and genres. I strongly encourage my students to get engage in critical thinking and I welcome creativity and new ideas from students. I always listen to my students wants and needs in order to maintain a healthy learning environment. In my studio, students learn how to achieve a better sound as well as learning how to control their sound in a healthy way.


What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Students taking piano lessons from me can expect to learn scales, chords, and how to accompany themselves or others on the keyboard. Students learn many songs in which they can build their repertoire with. Students are expected to practice songs that are assigned to them every week. Repertoire is based on the skill level of the student and is always assigned appropriately. My studio is a friendly, fun, and healthy learning environment for all ages and experience levels.

Performing Experience:

Ashley has performed in many productions. In 2012 she sang in Moscow, Cheryomushki. In 2013 and as the second lady in The Magic Flute. Credits also include the premiere of the Houston Grand Opera song cycle, Pieces of 9/11 by Jake Heggie, Simply Grimm at Lone Star Lyric Music Festival and A Little Night Music (Mrs. Nordstrom) while attending the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. In 2012 she was the first place winner On Your Way classical voice competition winner. Ashley was also a part of the Houston Grand Opera High School Voice Studio in 2012. She made her musical debut as Kate in Legally Blonde with Fort Bend Theatre. She then went on to take on the role of Irene in Footloose with Stageworks Theatre, Hattie in Kiss Me Kate with McNeese Theatre, Waitress 4 in Rock of Ages and most recently Johanna in Sweeney Todd with KC Productions. In 2019, Ashley competed in the National Association of Teachers of Singing-Southern Region in 2019 where she won first place for the third time. She has also been featured as a Soprano soloist for Mozart's Coronation Mass and Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass
