I am a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in the border cities of the U.S. and Mexico, and fully bilingual in English and Spanish. With more than 15 years of experience as a singer across genres including classical, sacred, folk, rock, and pop, I bring both versatility and passion to my work. Teaching for me is more than a profession—it is a true calling. I am dedicated to sharing knowledge, guiding others in their musical and educational journeys, and inspiring a deeper appreciation for music. In addition to performing, I serve as both a church and private music teacher, committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Vocal projection, breath control, posture, stage presence, vocalizing, intonation, phonetic pronunciation and performance. Fully personalized class. Each student has their own personal website which contains all their class materials, and it can be accessed anytime, anywhere. You can study at your own peace using your computer, tablet or phone. Classes taught in English or Spanish * Clases impartidas en Inglés o Español.
Formal Education:
• Master’s Degree in Educational Technology and Digital Competences – International University of La Rioja (UNIR). • Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a specialization in Voice – Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ). • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems Engineering. • Diplomas in Educational Neurotechnology and Innovation, • Digital Resources for the Classroom, and Foundations of the Digital Educational Community. • Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting and Pedagogy at UNIR, under the advisement of Dr. Nuria Fernández Herranz.
Private Education:
• Began formal music studies at El Paso Conservatory of Music (El Paso, Texas). • Studied sacred music at Instituto Tepeyac (El Paso, Texas). • Completed vocal performance and music technology studies at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). • Voice student of Enivia Muré’s private studio. • Former student of Eduardo Ruiz, Jessica Peña, Prentice Loftin, Yvonne Marmolejo, Laura Arzaga, and Mario TarÃn Acosta.
Performing Experience:
• Performed with UACJ ensembles in major works including Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Requiem, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, and several operas (Tosca, Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana, Don Pasquale, Don Giovanni). • Collaborated in opera galas with the UACJ Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Carlos GarcÃa Ruiz, Armando Pesqueira, Guillermo Quezada, and Valentin Nedelchev Tushev. • Performed with El Paso Chorale and El Paso Chamber Choir under Prentice Loftin in El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico. • Member of the Laudato Si’ Monumental Choir for Pope Francis’ visit to Juárez, and the Laudamus Diocesan Choir. • Served in several parish choirs in Juárez and El Paso, currently singing with the Emmaus Choir at El Señor de la Misericordia Parish. • Presently sings with the Rock/Pop band HardCode and is developing a solo musical project.
Experience Teaching:
• Music instructor since 2014. • Faculty member of the Diocesan School of Liturgical Music since 2017. • Teaches Singing, Choral Conducting, Choral Ensembles, Digital Media Applied to Music, and Music Theory and Solfeggio. • Responsible for Communications and Outreach, and collaborator in Psalmist Training within the Diocesan Dimension of Liturgical Music (DIDIMUSLI). • Regular participant in congresses, masterclasses, conferences, and continuing education courses in music and liturgy.

Great vocal lessons!
My daughter has been taking vocal lessons with Maria for the past three years. She is a wonderful teacher. My daughter has learned to sing all kinds of songs and also in so many different languages. Wonderful instructor
Maria has been a wonderful instructor for my 8 year old daughter-my daughter loves her classes and always looks forward to Mondays because of it. Maria's website with lessons is really great for studying outside of routine classes.
