Work experience:
• 2000-Present Austin, TX Self-employed Music Therapist and musician (international). Music therapist for groups that range from 6 to 30 participants in older adult care settings, multi-handicapped children and adults and individual treatment with a range of age and abilities. My primary population are those with Alzheimer’s Disease. Internationally performing musician (accordion, flute) and music facilitator with The Just Desserts.
• 2008 Austin, TX Co-Facilitator of Story Circle Network Affiliated Music/Writing Workshops
• 2007-2008 Austin, TX Co-founded The Charmed Ones: a recreational/therapeutic music facilitation group composed of 3 female musicians/group leaders. We were given private donations to run groups in nursing and retirement homes, a children’s hospital, a house for terminally ill AIDS patients, and a wellness center for the general public.

Program music therapist. Self-employed music therapist. Contracted music therapy 4 hrs/wk. Used guitar, accordion, and rhythm instruments, to stimulate and elicit individual responses from each child in a group of 24 multiply handicapped children.

Music therapy intern. Planned, implemented and documented music therapy sessions with residents in the Alzheimer’s, personal, intermediate, and skilled care units. Provided music programming for day care children and intergenerational music groups.
