Brian has always loved music from an early age. He began playing the drums at the age of nine in fourth grade and completed everything the school had about drums by ninth grade. His musical influences include John P Kee, Ron Kenoly and Najee. Brian's favorite thing about music is the ability to harmonize with other instruments. His favorite thing about teaching music is watching a student progress to success. When taking lessons with Brian you can expect to learn how to read music, to play solos, and how to eventually compete. Beginner - Intermediate
For a student to become highly proficient at playing drum set, a student should start with the basics of the snare drum. Will teach using Alfred's Drum Method. A student will be introduced to rudimental, roll, & reading studies. Student will also learn contest solos. As a student advances we will get into more intermediate studies which includes traditional rudimental, corps, and orchestral styles, multiple percussion techniques and more. Then begin to transition into playing the Drum Set.
