Hi, my name is Ala and I am a violinist from Atlanta, GA. I was born and raised in the USA to Egyptian parents.. I have been a student of music for 24 years. My musical influences include classical, jazz, Arabic, Indie and soul. and I also enjoy doing collaboration and improvisation. My teaching style can best be described as very free flowing. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I am mostly concerned about what the student wants to get out of learning an instrument. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to read sheet music, proper posture, feeling the music through breath, etc. I like to tell my students that music is the language we will always communicate with. My favorite thing about teaching is finding music that we both can enjoy playing together. My students love that I make sure to make them laugh at some point in the lesson. I primarily teach the basics, but I can also teach how to improv and collaborate with other musicians.
