Mitchell has always loved music from an early age. He began playing piano at the age of six and continued his education by playing in jazz band in high school and eventually getting a degree in music industry at Drexel University. His musical influences include Mutemath, Pretty Lights, Pink Floyd, Bob Moses, Robert Glasper, and more. Mitchell's favorite thing about music is improvisation and songwriting and his favorite thing about teaching music is jamming with his students. One of his favorite teaching experiences was helping a student from Ghana learn to speak English through music.
