Stephen has always loved music from an early age. He began playing piano at the age of 8 and joined the school choir and continued his education by learning to play guitar at the age of 17 and later took music theory, aural skills and other music education classes at NKU college. His musical influences include artists such as Johan Sebastian Bach, The Beatles, Weezer, Metallica, Slash, Tow Waites, The Cure and many others. Stephen's favorite thing about music is its ability to communicate ideas and emotions and inspire people to be better and his favorite thing about teaching music is sharing valuable knowledge that empowers the individual. One of his favorite teaching experiences was watching and listening to his daughter play a piece on piano he had taught her and how proud she was to have accomplished that. When taking lessons with Stephen you can expect to work hard but have fun. But if you love what you're doing it's not really going to be work.
