Hi, my name is Matthew and music is easily my favorite hobby. I’m fascinated by it and I would like to help you feel the same way and find a way to put your inspiration through into music. It’s a great hobby and super fun and I can teach based on if you really want to master your instrument and be a pro or if you’re just looking to have a new companion to jam with. I’m primarily a vocalist and that’s where my early education resides but I’ve been heavily studying instruments in the past couple years to expand my arsenal. Primarily I use the bass guitar, but I could give pointers and basics about guitar, a keyboard, or even a ukulele.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Song structure and choice is not an easy thing to learn, but I would teach simply by the principle of putting your feelings and theme onto paper and then going from there. I personally encourage rewrites, revising, and helping them decide on a structure that fits the lyrics or music they’re writing.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
I can teach starting with the fundamentals they could choose from being breathing, pitch, tone, and how to take care of your throat during it. Down the road I can teach cooler techniques like vibrato and staccato while also helping the student find where their vocal range is. What octaves they can sing, how many ranges they can cover, how to expand, etc.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
I’d love to teach you about whatever you would like to start with, whether it’s how a bass is constructed and what makes it work, the basic notes and scales, playing with fingers, a pick, or slapping, exercises to warm up or practice and improve.
