Music has helped me through so much in my life. It has helped me overcome past hurts, settle my insomniac brain enough to sleep, encouraged me, grieved with me after the loss of a loved one, and so much more. I believe music can change lives. As far as my degree path goes, I have decided to major in Music Business. This degree is a comprehensive blend of music production (live/studio), business administration, music business law, as well as improving my own talents and skills. People with this degree go on to be producers, talent scouts, promoters, band managers, etc.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
For a beginners piano lesson, I will first assess how confident you are in reading sheet music. If piano is your first instrument, we will begin by learning how to read notes, label them on our music, and how to find them on the piano. If you already know how to do these things, we will discuss what type of training (classical vs. pop) you want to recieve and what you want to get out of your lessons and go from there, as to assure you are getting the most for your money.
Formal Education:
I am currently halfway through my Sophomore year at North Central University, and will be a Junior after this fall semster.
Private Education:
I took lessons in piano from 2 in Wisconsin at Marshfield's Chestnut Center for the Arts, as well as guitar lessons from 2.
Performing Experience:
I have played on church worship teams over the last 7 years, which has greatly strengthened my piano and guitar skills. I was also a pianist in a jazz band for 6 years.
Experience Teaching:
While I was in high school, I worked by accompianing solos/ensembles as well as directing them, as my music program was underfunded and my teacher needed help. I have tought private piano lessons and guitar lessons for about 5 years now, however I also volunteered for a semester teaching piano and guitar through a program at my college to give kids more opportunities. I also have experience working with children with autism. I used to be a Respite Provider, and I would sing with the kids and use percussion instruments and they absolutley loved it.
