Keith is a Private Lesson Instructor for Low Brass Instruments located in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metropolitan area. In addition to teaching, he is also a highly sought out freelance bass trombonist in the Twin Cities in multiple settings and genres. In Jazz genres, he has performed with the Nova Contemporary Jazz Ensemble, Minnesota Jazz Orchestra, Beasley's Big Band, among others. His extensive orchestral experience includes performances on bass trombone with the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra, Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, and most recently, the Mankato Symphony Orchestra. In addition to these, he was a trombone player in the United States Army for 9 years 2, performing regularly on all low brass instruments for multiple Army Bands throughout North America. Keith has taught applied trombone, baritone, euphonium, and tuba since August 2001. He has worked as a private lesson instructor for the Appleton Area School District, New London Area School District, and the Lawrence Academy of Music formerly Lawrence Arts Academy, as well as an independent lesson instructor. Currently, he teaches Middle School, High School, College, and Adult Students on all low brass instruments in Woodbury, Minnesota. His primary instructors include Steve Wilson MM, University of Texas-El Paso, Charles Guy & Nick Keelan BM, Lawrence University, and Michael Lewis private study, University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He also has made scholarly contributions, to include his Master's Thesis: "A Performance Preparation Guide for Concerto for Bass Trombone and Orchestra 1964, revised 2001 Composed by Thom Ritter George born 1942," which was published by the University of Texas at El Paso Press, El Paso, TX. Keith is an Alumni Member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity. Keith currently plays on a Benge 290F Bass Trombone. He currently resides in Woodbury, Minnesota with wife and vocalist, Jodi, their son, Christopher, and their dog Smoochie.
