Hi, I'm Marcus from Las Vegas. My first musical performance was in kindergarten, and I've been singing ever since. In 4th grade I started trumpet, and in 6th grade I joined a choir. I was writing songs by 9th grade, and learning guitar and vihuela by 10th grade. I was formally trained in mariachi guitar, classical guitar, and classical piano. However, my favorite music genres to play are the various forms of rock and funk. I've taught guitar and vocals for the last 6 years. My teaching style is based upon interchangeable technical and knowledge benchmarks, which are evaluated based upon each students experience, preference, and passion. This develops into a holistic approach that teaches musical foundations and intermediate techniques while leaving room for creativity, freedom, and independence.
