About Me

I was born and raised in Oregon, I have studied vocal jazz, performance and music theory at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, Wa. There I studied under Kirk Marcy, director of Soundsation vocal Jazz ( one of the countries top vocal jazz ensembles. also took some instruction from Dave Barduhn at Mt hood C.C. in Oregon as well as Lonnie Cline at Clackamas C.C. (mainstream vocal jazz) During my time at Edmonds C.C. I would volunteer my time and musical knowledge to local high school and jr high music programs including a known private institution in the Seattle area called Kings Private Schools. Taking a turn shortly after to pursue radio broadcasting at my hometown radio station KXPC-FM 103.7 ( general manager-Rich Coleman) Where I did evenings and afternoons for over 6 years then moved to entercom broadcasting in Portland Oregon to work for KWJJ-fm 99.5 the Wolf. I spent three years from 2 hosting and emceeing events, fairs and festivals, including a live country music venue in the Portland area called the Ponderosa. Were acts such as Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Travis Tritt among others who had been performers there. Mixed in with local and regional talent I learned how to become a performer and as well as a songwriter studying what bands would do well and what they would do bad, I spent 10 plus years learning the tools to b a performer and also teach others of the proper way to become more than just an everyday kind of performer or musician. I can teach vocal technique, basic music theory, basic guitar and piano as well as provide helpful songwriting tools to take a beginner or someone who is interested in becoming a well rounded artist. Experience can mean a little or it can mean everything it's all how you apply the knowledge at hand. I have plenty of resources to use for most any problem solving situation that may need an answer. (ie, technical, sound, composition, and other advanced musical instruction). Currently I am a songwriter and lead singer/guitarist for my own original band called "THE MORGAN BAND" currently performing in and around Nashville Tn.
