Hello, My name is Kiara and I have been passionate about music for almost 10 years. I started when I was 10 years old on double bass. As I studied music education in college, I learned cello, viola, and piano. One of my main goals when teaching is to always have fun and to have a relaxed lesson. Music is hard enough, why make it tougher on the student? Even though I am a performer at heart, teaching is a second passion.

Beginner
My lessons begin with a warm greeting and a moment of casual conversation to build rapport. Secondly we review the previous lessons instructions and measure progress students have made on their own time. If age appropriate, students are rewarded with stickers or stamps. Problem areas are corrected and a new piece is introduced when appropriate. Moral is always high and classes are always light and casual while focusing on posture, hand placement, rhythm, and understanding of written music.
