About Me
At 11 years old, I got my first electric guitar for Christmas. A short time after that it was a nylon string classical guitar and then an acoustic electric. First song I learned was "Louie Louie" by my father.. Basically, I've never set aside my music ever since I got my first guitar at 11 years old for Christmas

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Root chords, bar chords, major/minor/pentatonic scales. Basic 12 bar blues. If you have a song in mind that you would like to learn, bring it up and we'll work on it together. Practice, practice. practice
Formal Education:
I taught myself how to read and understand "tabs" from guitar tab websites and learned how to play songs from the bands that I liked to listen to.
Private Education:
I started with classical guitar lessons, learning how to read notes on staff music sheets. Later I went in to orchestra and played the stand up bass and furthered my knowledge of sheet music. I have always had a one on one lesson with a music teacher. Later in high school, my lessons turned in to somewhat of a jam session with my teacher, not learning notes on paper, but learning the foundation of all music that is blues. He taught me 12 bar blues, major and minor scales, relative major and minor scales and also the minor pentatonic scale.
Performing Experience:
From 2008 to about '13 or '14, I was playing in a band and we would have at least one show every weekend playing various bars and other types of venues. We were a 5 piece band but later it was just the four of us and we were known as Jimmy Dick and the Love Affair. Towards the end of our time together, we had a regular paying gig every Saturday.
Experience Teaching:
The teacher that had been teaching me the blues in high school, i owe most of what I learned to him. Not only did he teach me so much during that time as his student, he later employed me at his studio to teach beginner and intermediate students on a one on one 30 min lesson.
