About Me

Hi, my name is William and I am a Trumpeter from Columbus,Ga but has been living in Louisiana since 2008.. I have been a student of music for 17 years. My musical influences include Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Wynton Marsalis, and I also enjoy Marching Band Pedagogy. My teaching style can best be described as fun and encouraging. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that any person can learn with the appropriate environment. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to effective buzz, breathe, attack notes, develop quality tone, and read music. I like to tell my students Practice does not make better, it makes you the best.. My favorite thing about teaching is tracking growth. There is no better feeling of witnessing lessons befefit students. My favorite performance was Honda Battle of the Bands in 2011. My students love that I believe in having fun. I primarily teach Trumpet lessons, but I can also teach Baritone. My approach as a teacher is to be patient and understanding. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
