15 years of solo concert Years
I am a touring guitarist and educator finishing my doctoral degree in guitar performance at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. I have 8 years of teaching experience, 3 of which are academic. I am specialized in classical and acoustic guitar finger-style approach, and can teach you any style. Learning how to play an instrument can be a frustrating process. While taking your finger-style guitar lessons with me, I will do my best to rationalize songs according to your current abilities. Be it less complex music such as pop and rock, or more demanding repertoire of classical music, Latin or jazz standards, my goal is to use every song as a theoretical and practical template that will help you understand the theoretical principles underlying each of them. By doing so, instead of learning every song from scratch, you will be capable of recognizing certain repeating patterns that will make it easier for you to learn new songs. Let’s make something clear – music is not so complex as it appears to be. Some concepts just take longer for you to fully comprehend them. The sooner you start recognizing and understanding the principles behind these concepts, the faster you will develop. At the end, the goal of everyone is to have fun! Your progress means more excitement for me, so let’s connect and advance together! I played concerts and gave master-classes on 5 continents. I performed at the events such as 2019 Melbourne Guitar Perspectives Winter Celebration, 2019 Hong Kong Altamira International Guitar Symposium, 2019 Universidad Nacional of Costa Rica International Artist Series, 2018 Miami International Guitar Festival, 2018 Thailand International Guitar Festival, and many, many more. I am currently working on my textbook for the University of Minnesota's Guitar Course, and I use each of the lessons that I teach to develop my method that will help many students to achieve their musical goals. Without further hesitation, send me a message to schedule a lessons and see if we are a good match!
