About Me

Hi, my name is William and I am a musician, educator, and producer from Ecuador. I have been a student of music for 14 years. My musical influences include different orchestras around the globe as well as renowned artists from Latin America, Europe, and the US. I also enjoy organizing festivals in regions that need attention in countries such as Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. My teaching style can best be described as a hybrid. Teaching is not something written in stone so each student has different needs and I develop different methods to deliver the information properly. In my lessons, you can expect to learn different styles of music, music theory, body coordination, posture while playing the instrument and different techniques to help you solve problems you might face in your instrument. Having an education is the shortest cut to play your instrument. I like to tell my students to be patient music is a long journey, but it will pay off. My favorite thing about teaching is when students can meet their goals and they feel happy about it. I primarily teach double bass and music theory, but I can also teach bass guitar, guitar, piano, and cello for beginners. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Formal Education:

I hold a degree in music education by the University of Southern Mississippi. I am doing my master's in music performance at Temple University.

Private Education:

I have been in masterclasses and festivals in Brazil, Argentina and the United States such as Femusc (Brazil), Festival das Montanhas (Brazil), International Double Bass Festival San Juan (Argentina), and Premier Orchestra Institute (USA). In addition, he has taken classes with bassists such as Thomas Martin (UK), Catalin Rotaru (Romania), Dr. Michael Cameron (USA), Bill Schettler (USA), Andrew Anderson (USA), Thibault Delor (France), Pedro Gadelia (Brazil), Gabriele Ragghianti (Italy) among others.

Performing Experience:

I have experience playing in orchestras in the US, Ecuador, Brasil, and Colombia.

Experience Teaching:

I was teaching in public schools in Hattiesburg Mississippi and I also have been teaching private students the past 8 years.
