About Me

Hi, my name is Kierra and I am from Willis, Texas. I have been a student of music for 9 years. My musical influences include soul/jazz and I also enjoy alternative. My teaching style can best be described as paced. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I understand people require patience and overall optimism to grow and develop as a musician. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basic fundamentals of playing guitar and writing music. I like to tell my students that they can accomplish anything. My favorite thing about teaching is getting people to love music. My favorite performance was a musical theatre production, as well as a guitar quartet competition. My students love that I go at their pace. I primarily teach children, but I can also teach young adults. My approach as a teacher is to build great musicians. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Beginner - Intermediate

In terms of how students express themselves through the music that they make, students can expect liberation in their musical process and positive feedback.

Formal Education:

I am a self-taught guitarist who has been playing since the age of 10. When I was in high school, as well as college, I had some guitar lessons from a professional guitar instructor. The lessons included music theory and improvisation.

Performing Experience:

I have had numerous experiences performing, whether that be in musical theatre in front of hundreds of people or an intimate performance with a guitar quartet.
