Benjamin began singing at the age of 8. Over the years, he developed his skills further by singing in various types of choruses from school choirs, to jazz choirs, to barbershop choruses as well as participating in solo and group contests and musical theater. He gained performance experience in the vocal area through 4 years if vocal music study at Loras College. There he was a member of the school chorus, men's chorus, and audition only chamber chorus.
He also performed in musicals and has taken private voice lessons since he was 16. Though Benjamin can teach many genres of music, his musical personal favorites are musical theater, opera, and American art song, which had great influence on his style of singing. Benjamin loves music because he enjoys the thrill of performance as well as the idea of sharing the beauty of the art with an audience. He loves teaching music because he believes singing is for everyone. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Benjamin can help you expand and enhance your singing.
