First of all, I am eighteen years old but don't let it worry you. I've got 10 years of experience playing music. I first started playing guitar when i was about eight. I first took lessons when I was about 13 but initially did not like them because I had to learn how to read music and the songs they used to teach me were boring and had no emotion to them. After I quit lessons I started focusing on learning scales, notes, chords, modes and other important aspects of guitar playing by myself. The main way I learned to play was by listening to the music I loved and then figuring out how to play it by ear. Once i started learning the more basic songs I liked, I then moved on to the more complicated ones. Here are some of the music that has really influenced by style most: Thrice, Manchester Orchestra, Coheed and Cambria, Death Cab for Cutie, The mars volta, Coldplay and many others. I also love many movie soundtracks, not the music inspired by, but the actual scores to good films. I write my own music and have been doing so for quite a while. I have taught music for a living for a while now and really love it. I tend to have a lot of patience with my students and they seem to have really appreciated me. I do a lot of volunteer work and as of right now do not have any other job.
