I started my music education at the age of 9 years old, in my 5th grade year. I was inspired to start by my parents limited music education and having some Disney Land Park performers come to perform at my school. This eventually led to me participating in various school music programs throughout my school career, with a deeper knowledge developing in my first year of high school. I was in my freshman year when I started to arrange and compose small pieces for personal use. It was this that led me to take on leadership and small education positions within my school.

My leadership as a brass captain and my arranging and composing work eventually led to me being both the John Philip Sousa Award and the Semper Fidelis Award For Musical Excellence. Through my connections with the band program I eventually began to work at the school as an instructor and music writer for the marching band.
