Hi, my name is Tyler. I am currently 24, and have been playing guitar since 2007, and began studying music theory in-depth whenever I was in high school. I continue to study music theory to this day. Hard rock and heavy metal sparked my interest to play guitar, after an Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie concert. I'm also an enthusiast for hip-hop music/culture. I have been teaching since 2017, and seriously writing my own music for since 2014. As far as genre, I am best at teaching hard rock and heavy metal, but I am also comfortable with acoustic guitar and fingerstyle I have copies of handwritten lessons that I give to my students as curriculum. From those, you can expect to learn how to sight-read sheet music in a contemporary style with music that I write. These lessons incorporate learning new skills and music theory at a fast pace. In addition to music, I teach my students important aspects to playing, such as: posture, tuning, changing strings, and more, as well as, probably most important, patience. Lastly, the further a student advances, we will get into having jam sessions, and practicing improvisation and songwriting.
