Andrew En.

I am currently a junior at Portland State Univeristy where where I am pursuing my bachelors in jazz-guitar performance. I have been studying guitar for about 13 years now. I study under Portland guitarist Dan Gildea, as well as composer/arranger Charley Gray and world renowned pianist Darrell Grant, as well as the internationally-famous George Colligan. While at PSU I have played in groups under the instruction of pianists Brian Ward, Ezra Weiss, drummer Alan Jones, and trumpeter Farnell Newton.

When I am not performing, I am exploring my passion for education. Not only expanding my own knowledge, but the knowledge of others. I have taught guitar, bass, and piano in the Portland area for 8 years and have watched my students grow quickly between each lesson.

I am a permanant member of the "Capitol Highway" Jazz Quintet, a Portland based jazz group playing a wide variety of early swing and contemporary music. I play guitar in the band and have composed original music for the group as well.

When I am not performing, I am exploring my passion for education. Not only expanding my own knowledge, but the knowledge of others. I have taught guitar, bass, and piano in the Portland area for four years and have watched my students grow quickly between each lesson.
