Lauren began playing Clarinet at the age of 8. Over the years, she developed her skills further by receiving private instruction under local instructor David Lamay. She gained performance experience in the Loudoun County area by performing with her high school concert band and marching band for 4 years, as well as with the All-District Band for 3 years. Though Lauren can teach many genres of music, her musical personal favorites are classical and romantic, which had a great influence on her style of playing. Lauren loves music because it has helped her express herself through a different language and create art with other musicians, and loves teaching music because she believes that everybody should be touched by music and learn how to create something beautiful with their instrument of choice.
