My name is David, and I have been playing the trumpet since 2002. In 2003, I practiced so hard in my middle school band, I ended up winning “Best Jazz Trumpet” at Busch Gardens Musicale band competition. Continuing on a musical path, I served as a section leader and drum major in my High School marching band while also playing my trumpet with the band at Church each Sunday. After graduating, I studied music at Norfolk State University where I became highly involved in the music department’s various ensembles, maintaining leadership positions and solos in performance. Upon completion of my degree, I traveled to North Carolina to teach High School and Middle School band for 2 years. Now living in Richmond, I am pursuing my career in music performance, while offering help to striving musicians along the way.
