Andy : Started playing guitar at age 10. I was soon playing in church and performing with my father (he played piano) for local folk art festivals. From that start, i have worked with advertising agents writing and performing songs for Florida businesses and corporate promotional videos. Along the way, I continued to enjoy taking on guitar students. "having fun is the key" is my approach in teaching.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
expect to explain where you are in songwriting. Demonstrate some samples tunes, even if you think they are too sketchy. We will start with that just to get the basics addressed.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
No pressure, but lots of hands on experience from the start to get you hands accustomed to the guitar neck. You will learn to appreciate what already know about music and how this will be our starting point setting you up to ultimately play the the types of songs you want to play. Having fun really is the key.
Formal Education:
i learned music theory from my father. He was a music professor at University of Monroe. He also had an appreciation for early folk and traditional blues.
Private Education:
I have an overlap of music education with formal and private. In addition to the formal education, my playing in a country rock band in high school was invaluable in rounding out my early music education.
Performing Experience:
Early volunteering. I still volunteer today whenever i have the chance. In addition to playing in a country rock band, i have worked with advertising concerns composing and performing music for business and corporate promotional videos.
Experience Teaching:
I have always enjoyed teaching guitar and have done this for over 10 years. I remember the early challenges that i overcame and I enjoy supporting the students overcome these same barriers.
