John began playing guitar at the age of 15. Over the years, he developed his skills further by taking private instruction from Joel Gregiore. He gained performance experience in the Houston area by playing at such venues as The Scout Bar, The White Oak Music Hall, The 19th Hole, Acadia, Fitzgeralds, The Warehouse Live, The Concert Pub North, The Engine Room, and Danelectros with acts such as Scrollkeeper and Well Of Souls. Though John can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are hard rock and metal which had great influence on his style of playing. John loves music because he came from a musical family and loves teaching music because he enjoys helping others discover their love for guitar.
