I am a 20 year old teacher from central Florida. I have been a student of music for over ten years. I enjoy a wide variety of musical styles and backgrounds, including rap, rock, and electronic. While I have no formal education in teaching, my mother is a school teacher and I work well with children, and I enjoy informal instruction. I focus on an open teaching style, informing students about the tools of music and the molecules which compose a musical piece rather than focusing purely on form. Moreover, I want to broaden any given student's understanding of what music can be while also increasing their understanding of musical language and literature; as a songwriting teacher, I have a background in academic English, especially prose and poetry, and I like to focus on ideas of theme and texture.
