About Me

McKenna started her musical journey at age 4 with piano lessons. She loved it immediately and knew her life was destined to be filled with music. In high school she insisted on taking voice lessons, which eventually led her to Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego where she studied the operatic voice and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. While in San Diego, McKenna sang for San Diego Opera for three seasons, and won several prestigious awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council. She began teaching mostly as a way to fund her own operatic endeavors and soon came to adore the way teaching allowed her to share her own love for music with others. McKenna now lives in Jacksonville, Florida where she teaches voice and piano lessons. She earned her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at the University of North Florida in spring of 2023. She loves being able to help children and adults alike cultivate their music education and grow in their passion.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Students can expect lessons based very sturdily upon a strong classical technique as I believe that is the foundation of every other genre. Lessons also work around performance selections of the student’s choosing, as well as vocal drills and warm-ups for strength and flexibility.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Students can expect a well-rounded piano education, with special attention to ear-training, theory, and technique, as well as weekly songs out of a lesson book, and performance pieces of the student’s choosing.
