Gavin began playing Violin at the age of 10, Voice at the age of 15, and Organ at the age of 20. Over the years, he developed his skills further by receiving his music degree. He gained performance experience in the world area by playing at such venues as Segrestorm Concert Hall and the Berlin Cathedral and with acts such as Bach's B Minor Mass. Though Gavin can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Baroque, Folklore, and Pop which had great influence on his style of playing. Gavin loves music because music brings raw emotion that noting else does and loves teaching music because he loves making an impact for the next generation of musicians. Performing Experience:
I was playing in string orchestras in grade school. In middle school, every year we performed at Knott's Berry Farm. In high school, we once did a tour in San Francisco. In college I was in choir and symphony orchestra. In orchestra, we have toured all over Southern California and in 2017 we were on tour in Germany and Austria. In choir, I have toured all over California and Oregon.
Experience Teaching:
During college, I was the Children's Choir director at my home church. When the pandemic hit, I am now teaching online piano and violin lessons; plus tutoring undergrads in music theory and history.
