I have been performing professionally since the age of 8. I have a BA in Music Performance and a Master's in Music Education. I am an award-winning songwriter and artist. I have performed at the Super Bowl as a featured artist and have played in 13 countries and 49 states in America. I was a featured entertainer with Ceasers Entertainment and played an average of 300 shows a year for 5 years. I have a great approach to teaching that has been successful to hundreds of students over the years. I feel theory is very important and I make it fun to learn. I don't use textbooks or pre written lesson plans. I evaluate each student and come up with unique lessons based on their individual aptitudes. Then the student and I write the lessons out together. This really increases theory knowledge and helps with playing. I would love to be your teacher!! I am set up at my location for a better learning environment. My studio space is pretty much distraction free and its a world class vocal recording studio. Everything I need for teaching is within arms grasp and my main teaching tools, piano and guitar, are within arms reach when I’m teaching in person or online! Although I teach guitar and piano, my real passion is teaching voice lessons! I’m becoming pretty well known as a vocal coach and I’ve got students all over the world including Texas, South Carolina, Washington, Florida, Paris (France) and London (England)

Performing Experience:
I was performing with the Houston Symphony as a guest pianist at age 8 along with performing at Church and School functions. At 13, I was playing piano, three nights a week and Sunday brunch, at Furrs Cafeteria and the Raddison Hotel in downtown Houston. I did this till I was 16. I started playing the club circuit, as a keyboardist, guitarist and singer, at 17 and still perform weekly. After college I discovered the dueling piano bar circuit and worked it for years. I toured as a musician and singer as a solo artist, supporting act, musician and back up vocalist with many, many top artists including Reba McEntire, Chet Atkins, Sawyer Brown, Mr. Big, Right Said Fred, Willie Nelson, Peter Gabriel (supporting act on WOMAD tour), and many others. My favorite is the ten days of Superbowl LIVE in Houston, where I performed all ten days for an estimated 1.5 million people. Experience Teaching:
I have taught in the Texas and Colorado School systems and at HCC in Houston. My passion is one on one or small classes where I can really focus on individual needs. For 30 years my method of teaching has successfully trained hundreds of musicians,singers and songwriters!

Excellent Service
I was skeptical about paying a company for sessions without interviewing the instructor, but I did it anyway and I'm totally happy I did! Not only is the customer service great, the instructor we picked from the many options, Malcolm Randy, and his dog Willie, are awesome to work with. Randy is flexible and comes to us, which is very helpful for me since I am generally chasing 3 kids in 3 directions in the evenings. He brings his service dog Willie with him and he is delightful as well. I really like that he tailors the guitar and voice lessons to my 12yo son's needs. I can tell it isn't a scripted lesson for the week that everyone gets. My son can be a handful but Randy is patient with him and keeps him engaged in the lesson. Randy is ain my book! Blown Away
I went to Randy to improve my vocal skills. After the first lesson I was singing stronger than ever and was able to hit notes I couldn't before. I can't wait to get back for more lessons. Amazing Teacher
I have taken lessons from several other guitar teachers over the years. I learned more in two lessons with Randy than with all my other teachers combined. After our first lesson I had an understanding of not only how and why a guitar actually works but why it's so important to know that and why I needed to learn theory so that I fully understand what I'm learning and playing. He hand wrote out some a basic lessons for me to practice and warned me it would be repetitious and borderline boring but to practice them one hour a day. After just one week, actually five days, I realized I was playing my chords accurately and going back and forth between them smoothly. I knew then what Randy meant by an "Ah Ha" moment. Unfortunately, after six lessons, my hours got cut at work and I've had to stop lessons for awhile. But I will be returning to take more lessons and I highly recommend Randy to be your teacher also!!
