About Me

Michael has always loved music from an early age. He began playing Bass Guitar at the age of 10 and continued his education by joining his middle school band. When he moved to high school he picked up the French Horn, trumpet and percussion (snare drum, toms, etc). He later graduated and moved to Norfolk State University to major in Music Education with an emphasis in French Horn. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in May 2020. His musical influences include Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Henrik Linder, Stevie Wonder, Verdine White, and Maynard Ferguson. He now teaches Middle school Orchestra and Guitar at Falling Creek MS in Chesterfield, VA. He has now been teaching for 5 years. Michael's favorite thing about music is once you touch music you can not leave it alone. His favorite thing about teaching music is the expression on people's faces when they learn something new. What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

All fundamentals will be taught to students such as music theory (key signatures/scales), how to form an embouchure brass, bowing style upright bass, fingerings, etc. Students will learn how to play with an ensemble.

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Students will learn all fundamentals such as music theory, fingering positions, and plucking/slap techniques. Students will also learn how to play along to chord changes and play with a band. Maintenance and repair tips will also be taught.
