Hi, my name is Nicole and I am a performing who has lived and trained all around this nation. I have been a student of music for 32 years, after getting a doctoral degree at a music conservatory I was equipped to compose, perform, and teach in many respects. My musical influences include Bach, Beethoven, Jazz, Arvo Part and I also enjoy the Danish String Quartet My teaching style can best be described as joyful, flexible, determined and demanding. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I expect great things from my students. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to set musical goals and enjoy your progress every step of the way. I like to tell my students they are telling people a story with the beauty of their music. My favorite thing about teaching is encouraging my students. My favorite performance was my Make Music Day Concert in 2018 where I got to premier original music with my students and friends. My students love that I always have a new idea. I primarily teach piano, but I can also teach composition and bassoon. My approach as a teacher is to accept you where you are and keep moving forward. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

kind spirited, patient, and knowledgeable music teacher
Our daughter has been a student of Dr. for about two years. The progress that she has made has on her music has been amazing. She plays so beautifully that I am blown away. My daughter is so excited about learning! She looks forward to her weekly lessons in fact she asked if she could have more time added to her existing lessons going forward. Her hunger and excitement for more knowledge is result of having a great teacher. A teacher who has simplicity in her teaching method. Dr. is a woman of faith she lives it and it is easily seen and felt in every thing she does. We appreciate her passion for music it is evident through her teaching. If you are in search of a kind spirited, patient, and knowledgeable music teacher look no further you will find it all in Dr.. Nicole Doran wrote on Fri, 28 Jan 2022

pianist composer review
Dr. has been my daughter's teacher for about 2 years now, and we love working with her. Dr. a Christian homeschooling mother & teacher herself worked with our daughter who has dyslexia, and helped find ways to relate and teach the material to her in a way that she learns. Dr. is insightful, very knowledgeable, and thoughtful. She meets her students where they are, and helps to build a life-long love of music. Nicole Doran wrote on Fri, 12 Dec 2025
