Marissa began singing at the young age of ten years old. Over the years, she developed her skills further by taking voice lessons, piano lessons, and joining community theatre. She received her BA in Theatre and Dramatic Arts from Lindenwood University and was in Lindenwood's elite a Capella choir, Voices Only, where she served as the alto section leader. Marissa gained performance experience in the St. Louis area by singing in venues such as the FUBAR, theatres like the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, the James Eagen Center,. ZACK, the Palace Theatre, etc. Though Marissa can teach many genres of music, her musical personal favorites are Musical Theatre, Pop, and Singer-Songwriter which had great influence on her style of singing. Marissa loves music because it is such a passionate way to express yourself and she loves teaching music because she loves helping others discover talents and abilities they never knew they had! What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
- Intermediate - Advanced
Students can expect an engaging learning environment where they take collaborative direction over their learning and progress. Students in my vocal studio will be active learners, where I will serve them as a mentor and help them progress into the best vocalist they can be! If students have an emphasis in Musical Theatre, we will hone their audition skills, create technique within the voice, we can film audition videos as needed, and work on pieces for shows or for classes. If students have an emphasis in Singer-Songwriting, we will hone their technique of writing skills, discuss lyrics and the overview of the song they want to produce, and they will learn the best way to highlight the strong suit of their voice.

Such a great instructor
If you can get in with Marissa, do it. She is a great instructor and is changing my voice in ways I didn't know it needed to be. I had no clue how to sing healthy before meeting her. Knowledgeable, Constructive, Creative!
When I first started lessons with Marissa a few months ago, I was a decent singer but lacked the confidence to sing in smaller settings and needed work on some technical stuff. Marissa's ability to hear your voice and know exactly what needs to be corrected is on point! I also love how she creates new and fun ways to help you to reach your vocal goals. She can feel out what each student needs individually and makes a plan for each lesson based on your needs. I'd 10 out of 10 recommend Marissa to anyone looking to start or improve on a vocal career! Highly recommend Marissa she has helped tremendously with assisting me with developing the proper technique for singing. I had always looked forward to going to my singing lessons.
