About Me

I am a divorced Charlestonian female age 53 with three (3) adult children. I started taking piano lessons at age 5, organ lessons at age 12 and remained with the same piano/organ teacher until I graduated from James Island High School, Charleston, South Carolina in 1986. Fall 1986 I entered the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at The College of Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina and studied under duo pianists, Dr. Wilford Delphin and the late Dr. Edwin Romaine. I had my senior piano recital in 1990 with Dr. Enrique Graf. While at the College of Charleston, I took choral conducting, private voice lessons, was in the Concert Choir for 3 or 4 years and one year in an ensemble. I have taught over 200 students since 1985 to present. Currently, I teach private piano lessons. I am an organist at Calvary Episcopal Church, and pianist at Grace Tabernacle Church, Charleston, SC. I am a secretary at James Island Charter High School. I volunteer with Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina. I am a cancer survivor (had maxillofacial surgery, lung and right shoulder). I am seven (7) months out of treatment. I do wear a mask at the lessons. It is up to the individual as to mask wearing. I have been vaccinated, received the booster and had the flu shot.
