Hi! My name is Lauren and I am a junior studying Music Education at KU. From a young age, I have always been drawn to music. As a toddler, my favorite thing to do was dance around the living room as my father sang and played guitar. Throughout my school years, I was involved in choir, several stage productions, show choir, and private voice & piano lessons. I began pursuing my Music Education degree at KU in August of 2019. I study voice and opera with Associate Professor of Voice Dr. Genaro Mendez. My undergraduate degree has provided me with three years of teaching experience in band, orchestral, and choral classroom settings as well as private settings. I also perform as a soloist in KU Chamber Choir, and will be performing a leading role in the KU Opera this spring! My favorite thing about teaching is watching students have those magical "lightbulb" moments where they realize what they are capable of! It brings me joy to see students recognize and develop their potential. I primarily teach voice but can teach piano as well. Thank you for taking a look at my profile! I hope to meet you soon!
