About Me

I began playing electric guitar at age 12. My first acoustic guitar came a few years later, and I quickly became active in school music programs, church youth band settings, and local performance opportunities. I studied music at Berklee College of Music and the University of North Texas, where I expanded my training in theory, technique, and ensemble performance.

In 1989, I joined Autumn Reign with Bret Fazio and later became one of the original members of the rock band Dirty Cowboys. During that time, I played bass and sang backing vocals, and the band contributed music to the film Louisiana Conspiracy, recorded at Rampart Studios with engineer Steve Ames (King’s X) and producer Dan Workman (ZZ Top). The band received strong support and airplay through Houston radio personality Lynn Smith of 101.1 KLOL.

Over the years, I have performed guitar and bass in a wide range of bands and professional settings, including Tantrum, April Sound, the Mike Conde Band, City Nights, and most recently Superna in 2018. My background includes studio work, live performance, songwriting, and decades of practical experience across multiple genres.

As an instructor, I focus on clear fundamentals, strong technique, and helping each student build confidence at their own pace. Whether teaching beginners or advanced players, my goal is to make learning guitar structured, enjoyable, and musically rewarding.
