About Me

Hi, My name is Marty. I am a guitar player from Shawnee, I have been a guitar player for over 40 years and have played on a worship team for over 15 years. I am a member of a Christian Rock band called Crosswalk 3:16 for at least 10 years. My influences are all over the map. I love blues music guitarists like Eric Clapton, Johnny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Joe Bonamassa. I’m also influenced by Tom Petty, Van Morrison, among others. I like to include music theory in my guitar lessons so the student can learn to adapt and improvise in a live performance venue. I have a profound love for music and the emotions it brings out. I play totally by ear so no need to worry if you can’t read music. I’m looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you as a brother or sister in the craft.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

My students can expect a solid foundation in music and how to understand why certain chords work well with each other. I can help understand Nashville notation so a given song can be transcribed into multiple keys. I can also teach the basics of soloing on guitar.
