About Me

Hi, my name is Oscar and I am a bassist from San Antonio. I have been a student of music for twenty years. My musical influences include death metal and I also enjoy jazz, hip hop, and R&B. My teaching style can best be described as practical. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I work smart, not hard. In my lessons, you can expect to learn various styles electric bass techniques and how to apply them in your everyday playing. I like to tell my students that working smart is better than working hard. My favorite thing about teaching is learning new ways to explain something so familiar to me and imparting knowledge to someone else. My favorite performance was opening up for death metal poineers, Suffocation, and having them praise my band. My students love that I offer a no-nonsense type of teaching style and my versatility. I primarily teach metal & R&B bass styles, but I can also teach acoustic & electric guitar styles. My approach as a teacher is to find out more about what YOU want to learn and customizing a lesson plan to help you reach your goals and beyond. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
