About Me

Hello, my name is Kaitlyn. My love of music began in my first band class in 6th grade where I picked up a pair of drum sticks and never looked back. I have been a student of music for 13 years performing percussion based music from battery to accessory to keyboard percussion. In Michigan, I continued my education with an associates degree in music education where I grew my knowledge in music theory and teaching. I gained performance based experience by playing such venues as the Detroit Pistons stadium, the University of Dayton Arena, and Northern Kentucky University. I have been lucky to be a part of many orchestras, jazz bands, and competitive percussion groups where I’ve received commendations based on my skill level and teaching abilities. Furthermore, I hope to create a fun-loving atmosphere dedicated to individual growth and musical progress especially in women and the LGBTQ+ community. When taking a lesson with me, you can expect to see progress after every lesson. I look forward to spreading music appreciation whether you are at a beginner level or a seasoned performer.
