About Me

Hi, my name is Shane and I am a well-travelled 40 year old Multi-Instrumentalist Primarily guitar from NY. I have been a student of music for over 20 years. Today my musical influences include everything and life itself. If you are passionate about it, then I am passionate about it! Personally I was originally influenced by early Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. I always had an ingrained natural curiosity that led me to understand what inspired them, and so on. This journey quickly led to a deep journey into American Jazz, Blues, Rockabilly and Country roots. From there it expanded to World Music, African, Indian, Middle Eastern and beyond! My teaching style can best be described as patient, enthusiastic and supportive. I support whatever you want to learn. Whether you just want to learn a few songs off of the radio or you want to start finding your own voice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn that it's never too late to start, and that every human being has their own voice and sound. I was also a Guitar and Amplifier technician in Austin and Nashville. So I can teach you how to save a few dollars and do simple adjustments on your instruments. My favorite thing about teaching is that I also get to learn and improve a long side with you. I get to see that universal excitement you have when you finally nail that melody, chord or song!
