About Me

Keith has always loved music from an early age. He began playing bass guitar at the age of 13 and piano at the age of 17. Keith continued his education by taking piano lessons and various music classes at Penn Valley Community College /Longview Community College/Avila University and UMKC. His musical influences include Larry Graham, Prince, Stanley Clarke, Louis Johnson, Twinkie Clark. Keith 's favorite thing about music is recognizing how powerful it is to be able to play and effect people’s lives positively. Keith’s favorite thing about teaching music is seeing that mental light come on in the students minds and hearing it come from what they play. One of his favorite teaching experiences was teaching a student who went on to play for Justin Bieber. When taking lessons with Keith you can expect to always have homework and to grow into being an accomplished musician who doesn’t just play well but who knows what they’re playing. Beginner - Intermediate

Learning the name of the notes and the number system by memory. I don’t teach by sheet music. I teach by ear.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Expect to learn the name of the notes and major scales by memory. If you get that real good, we will move on to chord recognition. Then we will learn the number system which will show you how to play a song in all 12 keys by relating the major scale and the chords to numbers.
